The Wreckage You've Caused

The Wreckage You've Caused

A Poem by A

It’s hard

there’s no other way to put it

being here

without you

not talking

not knowing

if

when

I’m going to see you

All rush of emotions

unable to let go

constantly trying to fill this void

only that call be met

truly met

by seeing you

being with you

scratch that

I will take any ounce of you

just hearing your voice

to help aid this numbness

I feel

right now

without you

being in the aftermath of a scene of a crime

feeling alone

going through the motions

another man’s touch feels

foreign

wrong

unlike yours

All attempting to fill a void

only met by you

All I’m left with in this wreckage is the broken, shattered pieces of my heart

that you could fix,

only by you

your voice

your touch

dare I say

your kiss...?

I wish I could say that I was above this helpless state of being. Alas, you have described a hunger that is like a black hole sucking your insides deeper inside. The "cork" for that hole is the lover!

I don't know why this hasn't received more reviews. It's touching and sensitive and wholly represntative of what poetry is about, to transfer emtions from the poet to the reader. You did that, dear lady, and I send my congratulations.

I like this one!! I definitely know how those emotions are. It is sad anyone knows those feelings.
