Love Sonnet XXXXI

As the day turns to dusk,

I fade into dreams, dreams

of the way the evening breeze leads

me to you….

They tell me, “let it be”, allow

those shadows swallow and

devour the heart of me. But,

I live in those shadows, remembering

the way you arrived, the way

your red hair enticed my wild

curiosity; in blue jeans and

wore my flannel shirt like

Summer air. When you left, all that

remained were memories and shadows.

I really admire your loyalty to these poems. Again, like the others, a wonderful poem with very strong emotions and visuals shining through. I like the shadow metaphor of this poem, but for there to be shadow there must be light, right?
