....magic may die, but the song continues

"

Love Sonnet XXXIX

 

 

As I walked the canyon’s valley, I

heard Spider Woman singing,

weaving the Mesa’s walls with

colors, rich hues that told the

 

story of Earth’s creation; the

story of the Hero Twins, Child

Born of Water, and Monster Slayer.

woven there were the Sun, Moon,

 

and Stars, all part of the Dine’

mythos and the Navajo Way of Life.

As she wove and sang,

 

you approached, arms stretched

wide, embracing me with your songs

and mystery, with your life.
