Love Sonnet XXXVI

At the break of day, we

awake from dreams, dreamers

dream of lemon drop kisses,

skin, suntanned glistening that

wears earth tones as fresh and

alive as flowers grown in moonlight

reflection. Once, my love, you held my

hand to your breast, “feel my heart

beat, listen to the way my

breath tickles your goosebumps

with warmth, and my words

flavor your tongue with poetry.

“My love, you flow in my veins,

and I eat you like Spring air.”
