Agi-Prop Blues

 

I said I wouldn’t pen an

agi-prop poem, written in Blues

about society’s current direction.

But, here we are, and

my pen’s aflame; a

a burning arrow aimed at Trump’s

MAGA fascist, white supremacist, anti

immigrant and women, LGBQ hating,

knuckleheads.

His seig heil storm troopers have

declared war on humanity, as they

plunder the Earth,

for the needs of a capitalist-imperialist,

America first system.

 

With iron-fisted dictatorship,

and lies about America’s greatness,

a fundamentalist, Christian fascist

society is being hammered into place;

a new “dark ages”.

This will be a Hand Maiden’s tale,

porn laden, extreme me, me, me

putrid, “your body, our choice”

morality.

 

Fear and guns, roving MAGA gangs

will rule over us. Our choice:

RESIST!

 

Resist everything they stand for,

their whole people eating program.

We do not have to live this way,

We can bring into being

a far better, more humane, world.

Avakian has developed a pathway,

to get there we must declare

and act on:

“In The Name Of Humanity,

We Refuse To Accept A Fascist America”

 

“This Whole System Is Rotten & Illegitimate.”

“We Need & We Demand:

A Whole New Way To Live,

A Fundamentally Different System!”

 

There is no metaphor here,

no beauty in any artistic form,

just righteous anger

and determination- a declaration

of intent,

both in words and deeds.

Beauty has died with him.

We can't even make poetry great again...he has fired all of the wordsmiths from their jobs of telling America to wake up and smell the MAGA.

so, let's fire him and his entire band of MAGA thieves. We must continue to write, maybe not agi-prop, but poem that praise and give hope, supports diversity and tells the real, real about how America was and never will be great. We need to write and show the beauty of our natural world and the beauty of human beings not caught up in the me, me, me, morality and culture of what he is spreading. We are alive yet, we have pens that can be on fire, we have a world we can win. Not easily or without sacrifice, but what else is worth the risk? In many ways, the future is now, in what we say, write and do!
