Love Sonnet XXIII

3am, I am wide awake thinking

of things to come, and watching

you dream. Too much time has

passed, but the shape

of your body remains indented

on one side of my bed. Long gone

is your warmth, the feel of

your flesh, pink from your

bath and my fingertip touch

as we cuddled toward sleep

and visions of a deep forest glow.

6am, the start of a new day,

as I wander through memories

of your waking me kiss.

You are going to make me cry, Curt. Stop it. The only thing surpassed by the fine craft of this piece is its truthful vulnerability. How could you do this to me? Such a fabulous piece:)

yes and no, Pryde. and now, I'm too old. Such is life, eh!
Those times are special to the writer/poet for his paydays of romance and love-making. He has got those wonderful memories pop in and out as his mind wanders along.
