Love Sonnet XIX

 

 

Blue jeans, flannel shirt, you

wore them well and with your

Shalimar scent sassy, I could

only smile at the way

 

you would flavor your

words with pumpkin spice.

Fall colors adorned your poems,

as similes took flight

 

in cosmic dust blown from

exploding stars and remnants

of nebula seen throughout

 

the universe. In the vastness

of space or here in front

of us, I will love you til the end of Time.

Hi Amy, she was 'sassy' and it was in Autumn that I fell for her and her red hair. I was lucky to have married her and promised I would always write her poetry. Un fortunately, we didn't last long, but I still write her poetry.

I'm not sure whether the poem emerged from the song, or the poem found the song. In any case, My imagination created this "Minx", the Shalimar is real. And, that you found her to be someone you would like to meet, have a drink with, was my intention. That is, my imagination would love to have a drink with you. Is milk and some cookies okay!!?? ;0)
