Love Sonnet XV

 

 

Guitar and Talking Drum sing

while Healers massage the earth

with fingers of sand and

herbs, created images and

 

signs to repel spirits,

the witches of dark winds.

All night the ceremony of blessing continued,

welcoming a new dawn, and

 

while the mysticism of powers given

by the Elders, who came first

to this land, worked.

 

These wanderers rode

star dust, blown by solar winds,

and kissed your Flor d’Luna lips.

Hi fellow writer!
After seeing Love Sonnet XV posted as a side view, I decided to click it as I'm right now into "love" pieces.
Sonnets are unfamiliar to me but I thought I'd try to learn about God's (Flor d’Luna ?) as one friend seems to be an expert in that aspect.
I was surprised by the Santana music! I love Santana but am into more of his tunes like Smooth.
Thanks for schooling me in some things I was ignorant to!

Santana is a great artist, musician, and human being. My favorite of his, is his first album, Abraxas. I had the great pleasure of seeing him perform in 1970.

there are now 4 (includes yours) reviews and a whopping 65 views on this poem Jacob. Perhaps this is due to not doing enough reviewing of many more poets at WC. My bad.

On the other hand, what I enjoy most, is that you and several other poets read and enjoy the poems I post. Your reviews, and comments, are greatly appreciated, and I get different perspectives on what I have written. Including to keep on writing and posting.

I appreciate your review here on this poem. I too find Native culture stimulating in many ways. They have an important perspective on the relationship between and among all things. One I feel has a lot of truth and value in it. And one that is much needed if we are to save our world from the 6th extinction and humanity's demise.
