Love Sonnet VI

My love, you were born of the Water Clan,

rivers run through your veins,

nourishing the valleys and plains

with wildflowers and maize.

Mesas rise above your ripples

that wander along Arroyo’s floor,

accompany Kokopelli's flute with songs

washing clean turquoise and gold.

My love, your calloused hands

smooth the stones of our land

with your loving flow,

purifying the earth,

enriching my love as I

bath in your liquid touch.
