Mermaid DreamsA Poem by redzone....found in my notebookMERMAID
DREAMS her ocean warmed skin finds comfort on the wave crashing rock as she
waits for the night sky to be eaten by the yellow appearing now in the eastern
skies. she lies curled in salt air and dreams he is sailing along the far
horizon, coming closer to her siren song, coming closer to her embrace, her
parted, aqua scented, lips and her blue coral eyes. long ago, when they were young, like white melting snow, trickling down
Sierra peaks, and playing youthful tricks on valleys below, coloring them with
shades of purple clover and yellow daffodils; even whistling misty songs
falling from tree lined waterfalls. yes, when they were young, so long ago and the earth was tall with
forest and sky. she fell for the native
scent of his copper skin. so long ago she sent him on his
journey to find the balance and beauty above and below as she had gone to find the peace between land and sea. so long
ago when they were young. she awaits him on this wave crashing rock in the middle of nowhere,
hoping that her eyes still sparkle coral blue and his still twinkle the cobalt
fire of twilight. for in her mermaid dreams, they once again play in secret jungle lagoons. he as a sleek, ebony panther of night; she the blue mermaid of
light. they make love slowly, then wildly, then slowly again, entwining in the
musk of dawn and spiraling lilac of dusk. In her mermaid dreams, she floats within her hopes of balance and the
warmth of his wildly cobalt, embracing eyes. they are young again, so long ago. 11.21.06 © 2022 redzoneAuthor's Note
