Were Dinosaurs Doing the Humpty

Hump When the Meteor Hit

Sometimes my thoughts are

surreal,

cascading through synapses

in disjointed ways.

Some would say, I’m crazy.

Maybe so.

Take this morning for example.

There I was,

scrolling through Yahoo news

when I came across an ad

for the upcoming movie,

‘Jurassic World Dominion’.

And I had to ask myself,

do you think the dinosaurs

were doing the humpty hump,

the horizonal bop,

the erotic ecstasy

when the meteor hit?

I imagine some looked skyward,

but suspect most

just kept on humping,

perhaps too, thinking

about a snack afterwards.

And then I thought, DAMN!

Not only have humans

found a way to extinct themselves

on the movie screen,

but, in this sexed-up world of today,

do the wild thing

as we watch the tipping point

implode!

How ironic,

not to mention surreal,

as in the midst of extinction,

we create more humans to extinct!

At least those dinosaurs

were oblivious to their end,

while we, knowing what is coming,

knowing we must act to prevent extinction,

just keep humping away,

hoping for an afterglow.

This brought a chuckle. Perhaps we are the dinosaurs now? Or are we ostriches, with our heads in the sand? Are we doomed? And if so, does it really matter? The universe would not miss us, I feel.

The dinosaurs are not extinct; they became chickens. Not to downplay the extinction event but megafauna and microfauna cycle with each other over dominance always.

Although I encourage every being to live close to nature and care for its continuous and diversity, the media sells disaster because it gets attention. Cheap food stuff that in reality is terrible for the environment because it is terrible for the soil, is profitable. Sick people are profitable.

Fortunately even the media cannot compete with nature's ace card; as you pointed out, even a looming disaster from space cannot do that. We dance sideways and we evolve.

We have to rebuild our soil and continue to turn to alternative fuel sources, but we will be okay and now we have the ability to redirect rock stars in space too.

It's looking rosy just not on Yahoo news.

Clever write, Curt:)

( I hope I remember you named right; I am awful with names)

No worries:)
I like your use of "extinct" as a verb.
Doing the dirty as we go down the drain...dying with smiles on our faces?
do dinosaurs ever smile?
