Wrapped In You

Behind your family’s home,

and up a tree lined hill,

we walked as youth

to the spring fed pond

and waterfall.

We sat with bare feet

dipped in the cool water

talking about dreams,

wondering about all the whys

and what the future would bring.

We had no answers,

just the warmth of our closeness.

But I knew one thing,

it was wonderful

sitting here with you,

holding your hand

knowing my life was intertwined

with you.

Though, years ago you left,

I feel the smoothness of your hand

in mine,

I remain wrapped in you.

Poignant and beautiful. The she here has left her mark. Whether an early death or a parting in other circumstances, she is remembered with much warmth. To be wrapped in someone is a great comforter. Will keep out the chills that life can bring.

Though it is not specifically stated, the impression is that death took the beloved prematurely. This is a very moving piece, a testimony that love lives on, if only in memory.

A wonderful poem my friend. It really speaks to the reader and brings to mind in them their special someone and the memories of their own memorable times. Thank you for sharing your poem with us.

I could almost feel the water on my toes! Such a romantic scene...innocently romantic and yet filled with long lasting love. To be wrapped in someone...to totally become one with them...that is true love. So beautiful, Curt...and of course, very "Nice". Lydi**
