Home Again

Home Again

....life always brings me home

"

Home Again

Standing on Eastern shores,

facing the rising sun,

I offer sage and thanks

to the 4 directions and

begin the day in peace.

Looking West,

my blood dripping, soaking

onto the dry soil,

and nourishing our Mother,

I feel the pull of home

enter my bones.

Wind whips through the canyon,

stirring arroyo dust and

stings my face

as I witness ancient pictographs

tell their stories

of how Turtle carries

our world on its back;

how the 4 Corners

became the center of the universe

and the ‘Old Ones’

gather there for peyote dreams.

My journey has seen many Winters,

taken me to distant shores,

but my heart has always brought me here,

to where the People celebrate

the alliance and

balance between all things.

It has brought me home.

turtles may be slow, but they get the job done.

"Gee it's great to be back Home Again, sometimes this old farm feels like a long lost friend"
Vermont and those farms I spent time on, they are home to me.
And I will return there someday.
I always find some significant way to relate to your words.
