Kill Me SoftlyA Poem by redzone....a poem in 4 parts....Kill
Me Softly 1. We
played in moon light, feet
dangling in spring fed waters, words
sung to Cassiopeia and
told our story; killing us softly when the dawn rose. 2. Amongst
Sycamore and Oak, ancient
memories float in the leaves, are
warmed by a Summer’s breeze and
speaks to anyone who listens. 3. A
yellow sun peeks over the horizon, pastels
reflect off smooth waters, but
the day begins with turmoil, the
future as yet unknown; yet
there are those who dream of
better tomorrows, and
welcome the coming storms. 4. Janis
once say: “it’s
all the same f*****g day…” but
the Sycamore still stands, sheds
its bark, reaches
for the stars. We
alone can change the river’s course, sow
and reap our
future, making
dreams become reality while
bathing under a yellow sun killing
us softly with its light. Aztec
