A Dragon, Unicorn FantasyA Poem by redzone.... a word challengeA
Dragon, Unicorn Fantasy Once,
long before horses roamed
this earth, Unicorns,
some with tangerine coloring, and
Dragons lived
and played, bringing
magic and ethos to the land. It
was also a time of
ice and pain as
humans began their
decent from trees, whose
green leaves turned
placid from the heat. And
the world began to change. Gone
was the ritual of Talking Drums, of
painting beats on cave walls, of
drinking from a blood chalice to
honor the earth. It’s
hard to pinpoint the exact moment when
Dragons disappeared. Or,
when the last Unicorn sacrificed
her life in
a vain attempt to keep magic alive. Sometimes
though, from
the mournful sounds of
a brass fantasy, played
in some jazz joint on
the lower east side, the
old time magic of
Unicorns and Dragons can
be heard. Aztec
