Sometimes the Clock Stops

Sometimes the Clock Stops

A Poem by redzone
"

....we need a new clock

"

Sometimes the Clock Stops

sometimes the clock stops

then in second-hand movements

runs backward

making the present

seem like the past

strange indeed

since time’s arrow

is not flexible

yet have we returned

to 1938

shattered glass liters the hours

as little hand words become guns

and the world can see

if it dares to look

the clock has lost its springs

sometimes the clock stops

not even being correct twice a day

it’s time

long past time

for a whole new clock

This is fantastic. Time moves in one direction but we know that memories take us back and history repeats and it feels like we've time traveled.

Yes, true. All of it. Love what you said about lock or liberate. And you are welcome of course.
Time is a tyrant to most...the clock ever fading into the mirage of history/histories and the seconds bleeding into this reality create a surreal and nostalgic wave at times...the emotion in this piece is wonderfully expressed as always :)

History seems to always repeat itself...and we don't learn from those hands going backwards at all.
powerful words here.
