This poem feels more like the desperation I feel at the way things don't improve & that page just won't turn. It's like the first poem presented things more coolly & with reason, whereas, in this poem, I feel the impatience for making something positive happen. The most brilliant line: "I am still writing this poem" . . . that is so brilliant, I'm very envious. It's such a succinct way to say it. And you, of all the poets I know, get to claim this poem, you write on it so often & so well! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
great song....this poem begs the question to me...are we running against a wind that we have created for ourselves...can we get out of our own way...
what we built in this country...fascist America...The Age of Aquarius stomped out by the heavy feet of materialism...commercialism...technology...
we are ruled by it....as Terrance Mann would say "like an army of steamrollers"---
