November Moon (Waniyatu Wi)

November Moon (Waniyatu Wi)

….blues for November..

November Moon " Waniyatu Wi

November,

that harbinger of Winter,

whose mornings are frost eaten,

skies overcast,

painted shades of gray,

and even its gentlest breeze

bites and stings.

It was in November,

Waniyatu Wi rose big on the horizon

when I first met you;

your sadly colored eyes,

your half smile.

When Waniyatu Wi set,

she took you with her

into a cold Winter’s white.

November,

the beginning,

the end,

ushered in life’s barren blues

played only by the deep sounds

of a cello’s vibrating strings.

Awesome lunar imagery, my friend! Love the first verse becuz you make the start of autumn feel so biting, a reflection of one's inner moan. Love the middle verse becuz of how clearly I see the moon dragging away a real person or memory or ghost. Love the last verse becuz it reminds me of how such memories or ghosts can vibrate/haunt in the radiance of Grandmother Moon (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
