Day Two

Day Two

It was a dark and stormy night!

Always wanted to start a poem

with that trite line.

Funny how sometimes

you do get what you wish for,

though usually

not the important things.

But it was a surreal day.

Motion everywhere,

As we cut through choppy waters,

the Atlantic wanting to let us know,

she was there,

and we,

silly humans that we are,

are at her command.

Awakened first light

by this motion;

to the sky kissing the waters

with foggy lips,

and in a Dali-esque way

painting a sensual sway

of waves reaching,

undulating,

rising and falling

to gather in the clouds,

the sweet release of rain.

All day

And into the night,

We were treated to

The panorama of a

Sky/ocean orgy of wetness.

Modern times Pablo Neruda alive and well. A gorgeous writing with outstanding lines to quote. Very descriptive and in the moment ...

Wow! You are welcome Redzone.
"orgy of wetness"....brilliant way to describe a rainy day at sea, Curt. I can relate...you know that. There is nothing quite like seeing the rain pound the deck of a cruise ship. It makes a person feel small...powerless. Mother Nature is in control always. Such a "nice" write, my friend. Lydi***
