To all of you who read and commented on this poem, I send you my deep felt thanks and appreciation... it is really wonderful to read your thoughts... so Gee, Lydi, Patricia, Sami, goldensta_, Giulia, Margie and Lyn, I tip my hat to all of you.... thanks...
My favourite type of writing, beautifully put together but done in a simple manner so that it is understandable without having to consult a thesaurus, Google or the head of mensa.
Thing is though it is far from simple to turn out work of this standard
Sitting alone and watching nature the mind drifts to different times and places. You paint the scene so beautifully. The sounds, smells, tastes of morning. The older we get, the more regrets we have and the more we miss special people. The reflective melancholy mood of this one drew me in. Your words are always worthwhile reading, Curt....and also very "nice". Lydi**
dear Curt... It is five thirty pm and the sky is midnight blue... Change is constant in our world these days... wondering how you are...
and then you posted an endearing poem. truly, Pat
Bittersweet melancholic thoughts of angst and missing. Pertinant questioning of the state of love and the beloved. The redzone coloring turned to amber in the questioning of what become of us. I love it.
Such a lovely poem.. such a heavenly Tuesday you had.. simple, yet charming
"it was relaxing
sipping coffee, and
waking to a cool summer breeze." this is my favorite part though the whole poem is a masterpiece.
I love every single word on this poem! You've painted a vivid picture in my mind. I love how you described the beautiful nature!
"Off in the distance
I heard a Crow caw,
and thought of you,
wondering how you were doing,
if your mornings were as sunny as this one."
That stuck out the most for me. Whenever something beautiful surrounds me, I always think about people from my past, wondering how they're doing. It's bittersweet actually.
I love the way you tell the story of this morning by weaving the sunny with the gloomy. Everything these days has a touch of melancholy, even when most everything is bright. I love hearing the description of past rain & anticipation of upcoming rain . . . something we rarely experience anymore, so thanks for the vivid share! *smile* Fondly, Margie
