Lost Loss

I am not sure why

these feelings persist.

I mean,

shouldn’t I just

let it go?

That’s what everyone says,

even the song,

playing as I write,

is all about

“letting it go”.

The guitar plays

gently in the background,

building the melody

to the voice singing,

“you be you,

and I’ll be me.”

The problem is,

you became so much

a part of me,

in letting go of you,

I’m also letting go of me.

I am lost

in loss.

to be lost in loss...what a concept---
and something many of us experience...i am right now...it's been over a year...but no more trips to NC...i am really missing family during this break...anxious for school to start back up...need to lose myself in the next semester...
the people who are gone from our lives, are never really gone, are they?

This is a beautifully expressed message of personal devestation. I love the last two lines, a familiar feeling. I’m sorry if this message describes how you feel & I’m thinking it does. Just take your time & be gentle with yourself (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
