Winter's White MelodyA Poem by redzone...snow and memories...Winter’s White Melody
There is a sadness listening to snow fall. If you listen closely, ignoring all the white, you can hear the soft melody being played as each flake flutters in Winter’s wind. It is a song of Mistletoe humming above doorways announcing Yule time, and Evergreen scents.
It is also a past tense when she would sing, make eggnog, or walk with a smile that would melt even a Grinch.
I remember the very last tree, a Douglas Fir, decorated in blue lights silver bells, and holding hand-made ornaments from my brother and me.
A memory remembered, carried on today’s snowfall, whispering the melody of her voice among this cold, Winter’s white.
