A Journey

Many paths present themselves,

each one, a life’s journey.

Which one will you choose

will depend on who you are,

and who you want to be.

Many paths,

some with colors that tempt

and offer easy answers

to life’s difficulties.

Most lead to hidden swamps,

a living purgatory,

that no matter how small you become,

will never allow you through

the needle’s eye.

Many paths,

but only a few

will lead you

to a life of meaning.

Paths and life’s journey,

which path will you choose?

Who do you want to be?

dear Curt... a quaint view on destiny... when curtains open to view the soul... only then will we be made whole ... truly, Pat

I found this both mythical and magical, reading aloud. Deeply rooted and deeply felt.

Dear poet... a kinder more gentle person... who stops to see the ripples in the river of life.
A woman who crosses a bridge to see another view of love ❤️ becoming untangled. truly, Pat

Good metaphor here. I, too, see a bit of Frost in this work. Still, you make it your own, gently instruct, and pose good questions at the end for the reader. Nice piece. I enjoyed this one.

Robert, you and Jacob see some R.Frost in this poem, that is quite an honor... thank you muchly...
love the "needle's eye" part...
this is a more serious version of Frost's "the road not taken"
his skims the surface of choices and what if's--

this shows how each path has its deep pitfalls and can really knock us off course.
