The Loneliness of Shadow

The Loneliness of Shadow

Those dark colors of loneliness

are plentiful in shadow.

They swirl around you,

infecting you with shades of grey

leaving you empty

with that cold,

pale,

greyish-yellow hollowness.

It’s a place where oblivion

and nothingness collide

and silence resides.

~~~
But you can converse with silence,
it often sounds like a Bach Requiem melody
spoken in tenor and bass
while a deeper black dances
with a once you " a you
that use to lovelight,
stars,
a Spring-time moon
seen while walking
the forest path to Lancashire.
~~~

Deep in this forest,

where ancient Oak and Sycamore

make a dark canopy,

on the path,

stands a weather worn bench

etched with origin runes,

spells and chants.

It’s here you sit;

here, where the Black Dog sits

by your side

as you converse with silence.

It is here where Morrigon

sends her crows to guard you,

where her Winter’s breath

invites you into her realm.

~~~
Greys and blacks swirl
in the loneliness of her Shadow.
But it is also here,
within these shadow colors
I fight to touch you;
a voice from the mist,
from the far away,
where light still has a say;
a voice calling "
S T A Y!!
     I will be waiting by the bench
     hoping for a smile,
               a word,
                     a touch,
a fading of this Black and shadow.
You set the scene and above all the mood of this telling short snapshot of awaited love and romance in a forest and on the bench by this lovely dog( a hint of true or loyal friendship). I'm amazed...:)...............
lots to like in this one sir! i especially like the handling of "conversing with silence in your second verse ..the mix of omens and mythos always tweeks me imaginings and fancies ..especially impressed with the introduction of the "black dog" .. sets of the scene in stark review ... i watch the movie in your video .. its one of those chick flicks that i liked ;) could not help but think of how to rid oneself of those shadows ... in either darkness or light ;)
I know that bench . . . maybe not the exactly level kind made from wood slats . . . but sometimes sitting here on a boulder, I get all these same feelings. You paint darkness & melancholy as if it were a badge of honor, not a curse. I like that. I like the way you embellish the dark aspects of our moods & our minds & our wanderings. Everything in life deserves to be honored, not just the "rah! rah!" everything-is-going-right times. I love that Black Dog & hope to meet him at the bench again . . . *sigh* (((HUGS)))
ghostly good---the oblivion of emptiness...shadows of nothingness...but she'll come...and there will be light in the darkness.
Magical words, Curt...mystical too. The romance is deep and has a Native American feel to it. There is also intense longing in this one....all in all, a very "nice" package. Lydi**
