Simply You

Simply You

Simply You

My words for you

are sometimes complex,

since desire is often

inexplicable, as love, it seems,

is complicated by azul emotion

of holding hands while

standing on Saturn’s rings

or braving the howling winds

of Jupiter’s storms.

These words are not written

for a ‘love jones’ melody,

or some other ‘old school’ funkiness;

though being covered in your liquid skies

would be a sighing blissfulness.

No,

what I mean to express:

‘I want to write your name

   on Haley’s tail

   in 10,000 pt. comic sans,

   bold and italicized,

   with indelible India ink,

as it travels throughout the cosmos.

   My words are indelible,

   my feelings infinite.

Is that all right?

This is so brilliant & imaginative! Might be the best thing I've read in weeks! The on-going cosmos analogies are very well woven together, but the ending "comet" details are so surprising! You have a way of conveying your enthusiasm in ways that are not at all like the typical love chatter that most engage in. Any woman would love to wake up to your zeal every day! *smile*

"My words are indelible, my feelings infinite." Now how, Curt, could that NOT be all right? Desire is always inexplicable, that's for sure. It hits us hard and it does not come with directions or logic. When you feel it, you say it so well.....those planetary references are divine! Curt, what can I say? So very "nice". Lydi**

i like the juxtaposition of the title to the idea of complex words trying to express a simple feeling of love...
we never feel our expression is strong enough, do we?

nicely written
