Dayight Savings

Daylight Savings

I met an empty-headed poet

last night,

all his metaphors escaped

onto a page in time,

an hour’s small space,

leaving him dull witted

boring

and scratching his head.

I looked in the mirror,

saw the man was me,

frowned,

then laughed

and went back to bed.

Laughing here....Curt, you are certainly not dull witted or boring. I think we all wrote the most magnificent poem in that hour we lost and when we lost the 60 minutes, the words flew into the netherworld with them! Smiling here. Lydi**

Lovely write. I happened to write about the same thing when the daylight saving started. I enjoyed reading your poem when it shifted back.

thank you Queen II, glad you got here on time... er.. lol... and thanks for the comment...
LOL, I was just musing yesterday about how young scholars find a dead writer's journal or something and study it to write their thesis on, and wondering how the writer would feel about it... Speaking for myself, one half of me would be screaming, "How DARE you look at my personal writings and try to piece me apart with a dull essay?! Grrrrrr!" But then the other half is howling, "LOVE MEEEEE!!!" I think we have to be dead to enjoy the perks of being a well known writer

This reminds me of my night...I tossed and turned so much, I thought I was going to fall out of bed. I hate losing an hour - don't you? At least you have a poem to show for it now! ; )
