Flannel KissA Poem by redzone... a kiss is just a kiss- never...Flannel Kiss
In the wee hours of the morning, when night’s shadows reach their zenith, the stars shine brightest- this is when I miss you most. And lying here, searching skyward, is when my bed roll is at its coldest, empty of your feminine scent and your warm breath on my neck. It is now that I reach out for your flannel skin, the curve of your face under my chin, the rain water smell of your just washed hair; it is now in this darkness I need you most. ~~~ Last night I saw you sitting by the piano, playing your favorite song, “Rhapsody In Blue”, one of Gershwin’s best, but somehow under your fingers it seemed even more alive, its blue an even more vibrant hue. As I listened, I knew for sure tonight in those wee mourning hours, I would find you waiting for me in the warmth of your flannel kiss.
