On this Friday night a poem to share with all who wishes someone would write them a love poem. Or in some other show of affection give them love and kindness.
Bright Star by John Keats
Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou art " Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night And watching, with eternal lids apart, Like Nature's patient, sleepless Eremite, The moving waters at their priest like task Of pure ablution round earth's human shores, Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask Of snow upon the mountains and the moors " No " yet still stedfast, still unchangeable, Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast, To feel for ever its soft swell and fall, Awake for ever in a sweet unrest, Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath, And so live ever " or else swoon to death.
I think if I would write a poem of love for the one I love, It would be to simply voice softly in your ear, this one written by John Keats and given to his love, Fanny Brawne…. redzone to_____, a softly voiced enchantment in the night’s sky.
I hope your mysterious loved one appreciates & soaks in this interesting pick for a love poem. I'm afraid my ability to interpret this style of writing is woefully weak. But since I'm so out of the loop where love is concerned, I think I might need to try borrowing a pre-packaged love message, too. Good idea! At least then it would have a more authentic sound, as your Keats selection does (compared to my limited experience, that is). I just want to honor you for the way you share other sources of enlightenment, thru song, classic poetry, & current news events . . . it's just like you to not always make this about yourself. We love sharing your tributes to other artists & thinkers (((HUGS)))

and if you are someone who wishes someone would write a love poem for you, then this poem is also for you Margie... and I am glad you read and commented on it...
That's a beautiful poem.
Not one I know. Your closing lines show your romantic heart.

Be still my heart. I adore Keats, and have written poetry inspired by him ever since I saw the 2009 movie, "Bright Star". The Los Angeles Times was quoted saying that it was "one of the most deeply moving films in memory". It's a must see for all "Keats" fans!

Kelly, glad you appreciate and adore Keats, his poetry is some of the best ever written and very romantic and insightful... the only other poet I would put up there in this regard would be Neruda who I favor even more... and this is not to disregard many more poets... thank you so much Kelly for your comment...
Ah, you are full of surprises. Keats. One of the few books of poetry by one author that I own, next to Poe, and Anne Sexton.
