It's devastating, not getting that acknowledgement that we "meant something" to someone. It's a difficult pill to swallow, but I truly believe its the angst of it all that gets us back on our feet.
"life actually
was alive here
with springs of passion. "
This one really tugs at my heart . . . your message is so close to my life experience on so many levels, I can't even decide which heartbreak this reminds me of most of all. You have done an excellent job of pouring out your heart in an unmistakable way, such mournful words, such recognizable details, like the door that used to be always welcoming (so well described) . . . oh how much that hurts to think about now . . . I'm sorry that you've experienced this to such a degree, as only a true life experience could prompt a message this poignant. Even tho it's sad, it feels good to share this sorrow with you (((HUGS)))

I did some good things & some adventurous things & I write mostly about those, but some day I want to muster the courage to show the ugly things I did, too. In one piece about the dog that changed my life (Barley) I admitted to beating her so severely that my hand swelled up (the rage inside from being raped thru-out my childhood). This dog taught me to get over this rage, but not before I was horrible to her. It's really hard to show those parts of ourselves, but it helps when there's been some redemption in the process *sigh* (((HUGS)))

The heartbreak, isolation, and emptiness are intense here. The road is solitary...the heart now vacant. What once was.....and now isn't. Regrets loom large when we look back down that road and remember. Thing is, we often rewrite history. "Kissable smiles"....the ones we all want to see and the ones we remember most. Heavy sigh....this is such a sad one, Curt. Heartfelt emotions. Lydi**

thanks for your kind words Lydi, I knew you would get it... have you read the poem I wrote for you yet.. a Friday night tease... lol
it's a desolate road when the signs remind us of the chance for love we had, and how we threw it away by not saying we were sorry...i guess Aly McGraw was wrong in Love Story...love does mean having to say you're sorry.
effective write conveying strong emotion and regret.

This is very sad and if someone does not allow room for forgiveness and apology then that's very tough to accept but it's going to be their downfall ultimately. To err is human, as is to forgive and accept we are not perfect.
