Time is not heavy enough

to erase all these tears

that wet my face;

they leave me without the grace

to deal with all these fears

that chase me everywhere.

Why do I hear your voice?

It sounds within all the words

you whispered in my ear.

Why are you still here

in my heart,

breaking

searing it apart

in pieces too many to count.

Please

just tell me to go,

to forget your memories;

your piano/cello embraces,

your moon lit sonatas

and backward walking stars.

Allow me to burn alive

in the blacken’d seas

that caught fire.

When seas catch fire, all the firemen in the world can not extinguish the flame. Some memories last throughout a lifetime and while we may rewrite them a bit as the years go by, they are ours....and we cherish them in the quiet moments. Were they ever real or were they just fantasy? It matters little. Piano/cello embraces leave a lasting impression....sometimes we just have to accept this.
