There are so many things about your poem I love, I don't know where to begin! The first stanza, especially, is such a unique & interesting observation, especially about hummingbirds . . . but could also be like a person, too. I have a long connection to hummingbirds & we'll be sharing that, bit by bit. I love the "song" parts becuz almost every time I write (& I see this with you, too), there's some certain song in our minds that bleeds thru into our message. Great alliteration + rhythmic phrasing: "mystic magic mojo" . . . The 4th stanza is another stand-out fave, reminding me of my country ways, as exemplified in one of my favorite stories of old (you know the one). I feel almost as if I could do a little humming around the place myself, after reading this *smile* Thanks for sharing.

for me, there is always music hovering...and almost anything anyone says to me in conversation makes me think of and often hum a song---those marks in time...those lyrics that bring back a specific moment also wait for another moment in which to hover.
