But I must ask,

I hold you like fire

Whew! Damn! This is a beautiful poem filled with so much emotion! I absolutely love the way you describe everything! It's almost teasing! Beautifully penned!! You've got amazing talent!

You are more than welcome.. im happy that you read and left some words, and that you enjoyed ...
Like a shooting star, she was there, all of her beauty glowing, shimmering before your eyes, sprinkling stardust on your heart, then was gone as quickly as she appeared. Kind of sad but nice to have had the experience. Great writing.

Thanks... she was special and I loved her banter and the poetry she wrote...
And then time started again.
An Autumn moon
got caught in my dream catcher’s web
as stars ran in circles
dripping cosmic radiation
on wildflower ecstasies
of insanity’s desires
and you vanish into the
dark vistas of night,
leaving me only this
angelic burning
and sinful yearning
Wow … that was amazing, Curt:) Truly:)

Deliciously wicked thoughts with the perfect song to accompany them. Everything was perfect once...wasn't it? Everything was just as you wanted it to be. Perhaps you have to hold onto those thoughts and cherish them. The romantic longing and the seductive yearning in every line of this drew me in. If she is still out there, surely the magic of this write will lure her back into your dream catcher's web. Very "nice" words here, Curt.....one of your better writes. Lydi**

I was reading through some of these poems and this poem came jumping out of my pen... "sinful" huh??? lol
anyway, it's a shame she had to leave, she may have teased me about this one...
Thank you for the "nice" comment Lydi, have a very happy and good New Year..

Yes, it is shame. I still miss her, her sense of humor, and her poetry.
How magical it is when someone sparks that edge of creativity inside you. It's kind of like a new discovery or rediscovery of yourself. How it works is really cool and addicting. This is an awesome portrait of your creative, poetic heart, dear poet :)
The first poem I have read from this poet. What I like a lot here is the first line of the second verse, the
direct address, that has for the direct address of Donne, a nice contrast to the richer language of the first and second verse. A good poem, well written.

thanks you Leslie, nice of you to read and comment.. appreciate this and glad you enjoyed..
Ah... Why we do what we do. Why we say whatever it is we say. Why we feel the desire to strip naked our needs and wants with fellow writers; asking for their opinions and validdtion?
Do not judge harshly one who gives so much.
Even when you are left holding your own "sin" in the lonely shadows.
Another may have a creative process fueled by unattached passions. They may be washing their pain, loss, joy, enlightenment etc, in baths of self discovery. It has to do with you what you choose and they should be welcomed to give the discourse any meaning they choose... IMO. 😀
Yes, we miss those who inspire us. We burn in the embers of their once vibrant proximity.
Now, use this burning to find your voice of passion! Like you have done here, lament and explore your own needs and longing. You will be the voice another finds their muse.
Sorry to go on and on... I enjoyed the poetry. Not sure about the word use of "sin" here, but other than that I found your write a catalyst of creative thought.

I know. that was the running teasing I would have with Frieda Pickle about her poems not being about.. read moreI know. that was the running teasing I would have with Frieda Pickle about her poems not being about "sin"... which is the reason I wrote this poem more as a tease to Frieda... the "leaving me" was more a thing about not being able to continue this banter than it was a commentary on her leaving WC (which I understood and supported her in), which doesn't mean I don't miss her presence alot, which I think I am not alone in... sometimes I would comment on the poems she wrote as saying that's not sin for a women to want to have and enjoy great sex and she would tease me back in her way..
But just so you know David, I was not commenting on her leaving, or making judgement on her reasons for leaving... And I know too well the amount of BS and ugliness that goes on here at WC where too many really good poets have left because of this ugliness, Frieda being one of them...
I am glad you stopped by and left your comments, I always like the way people read my poems, it's insightful and I learn not just about the poem itself, but how they affect people sometimes in very different ways.. so thank you very much David... and Happy Holidays

Here I see a person I admire greatly making a comment of cynicism and judgment. People share their very souls here sometimes... They get attacked and stalked. They get accused and misunderstood. Personally, I came here because I needed help. I was suffering and hurting. I took a risk and shared and gave fully my heart in transparent communication. People can be wonderful and helpful. They can also be very mean and use your deepest sharing to attack you. I left here firms while for this very reason. I know others who have left for their own reasons, but never assume their intentions... I'm surprised you could make such a comment. We all seek some attention here or we would write our poetry and put it in a locked drawer or burn it so nobody would read it. Yet we give as well. Those same writers who seek do much attention give their time in reviews just like you do. They give emotional feedback and respond with more than simple platitudes how grateful they are to their fellow writers...
Again, I respect your work. You are kind to me and new writers with you time and reviews, but I had to respond to this comment publicly because I understand how a writer can be hurt here and feel compelled to leave... Thankfully I got over myself and returned, but I will not judge another their needs to find their place to create and share.

i was not making a judgment of the poem or the poet---i was talking about the content of the poem as it spoke to me...feeling the hurt of someone who takes our heart insincerely...
i am so sorry if this comment was misunderstood...I would never attack another poet...what we write is too much a part of us...and it is not in my nature to do that...
and Curt, hopefully you realize my comment had to do with the poem in a metaphoric sense.
if not, i am very sorry for the misunderstanding....you know i appreciate your writing very much.

David, I did not take as offensive or in any kind of negative way his comment on this poem... As I said to you above, this poem was about the teasing that Frieda and I did around some of the poems she wrote where she would say in them that there was "sin" when I though no, whats wrong with women wanting and having good sex!!! and the leaving part was more me saying that the teasing around this was no more since she left... and she has said to me once after she left that on occasion she came back to read poems written by her friends so I asked, "Are you out there"?? lol But I was not commenting on why she left... I do miss her very much though as I think many others do as well...
anyway, I enjoyed both of these comments and perhaps my reasoning will help to put what you have both said into some perspective... Thanks again David and Jacob...
