for you my sweet friend...

FAP #5:   ALWAYS

Sitting by my window,

watching the Autumn breeze

whisper to fluttering leaves

about color and change,

and my thoughts

take a familiar course

that leads to you.

Placing the white candle

on the sill

I see its flame dance

into its reflection-

the image almost 

as bright as the real.

One candle for you

and one for Lee.

She is after all

a burning flame

dancing beautifully

on your heart.

As the two flames flicker

in their hypnotic display

of reds, yellows

and orangish blues,

I see a reflection of you;

a tear sliding down your cheek.

As I go to gently

wipe it away,

you fade into the flame,

into remembrance’s embrace.

Sitting by my window,

I am moved by an

Autumn’s breeze as it

dances the candle’s light.

She will shine

and live within you

ALWAYS.

thanks Lydi, I have been lighting a candle for her on the 10th for awhile now and as I listened to this song (she actually introduced me to Dax Johnson), the flame seemed to dance to the music and this poem just flickered into existence. I am glad you liked it.
