Chasing Words

... aren't we always chasing something???

Chasing Words

In those early hours

when I can’t find sleep,

these words appear

circle,

then dart away;

close,

but out of reach,

just as I want

to put them on the page.

It’s maddening really,

circle

dart

chase

circle again

until they finally escape

from my confused mind.

It’s ironic

how once free

they simply jumble together

like those magnetic words and letters

I must pull apart,

then arrange them coherently

so they make some sense.

It’s like that young lovers wishing game

played with flower petals-

   “She loves me

          She loves me not

              She........”

Yes … we are all always chasing … for sure. There was something about the tempo and wording of this piece … it elicited quite the emotional response from me:)

aaaah Pryde, I think you may have been caught up in that "he loves me, he loves me not, he ..." you always have to pull these emotions apart, chase them and make sense of them.. an imposible task most times... especially when it comes to love...

Yes, 3 sons and now grown with their own kids.. it's so fricken neat, 4grand daughters and 3 grand sons... got to visit with some of them over thanksgiving

first, I love this song.. accentuates the sentiment in the piece beautifully.. adds a little whimsical to the words.. the flow of this one has me hanging on the words, captivating me with the teases of emotion sprinkled in there.. sometimes it feels as if ideas get all jumbled up in my head and then my heart makes them even more scattered.. pulling, pushing, rearranging... loved the ending.. :)

Yes, why does it always feel like you are chasing words when you want to express how you feel towards a special someone?? It's more than just being tongue tied...

I don't mind being vulnerable, can't love without being open, I think ( at least for me anyway) there is being turned away, or offending... and then too is the wrong time, wrong woman, "she loves me, she loves me not" thing... and now I am too old and it doesn't matter anymore anyway... sorry, here's another feather, I'll go quietly... lol

I debated the use of this song, but it has always been a favorite of mine and I thought the "wishing" aspect of it went nicely with the wishing on flower petals... another good song from him is "Sign Your Name". I sent it to Frieda once because of her poem about etching your name in braille on your heart... anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it... ;0)
