It's true....violence against women is often spoken of in whispers or in the shadows. It exists...and should not be tolerated anywhere. So many will say, "she made him angry" or "she was asking for it" when, in truth, no one asks for the atrocious acts perpetrated. Your words are powerful....your words prove once again how much compassion and empathy you have. A very worthwhile poem, Curt. Oh, yes, and it is "nice". :) Lydi*
I absolutely love love love the song at the end. I'm still dancing. I can relate to this experience portrayed. It is a traumatic experience that can never be forgotten, which is why I do exactly what this video speaks of! I rise up and try to help others break the chain.! Your words were powerful! Thank you for sharing.
A wonderful poem raising the awareness of this global problem. The other half of humanity should be loved and treated with respect and appreciation. Men are atrocious and ferocious. An excellent poem...:)........
The numbers are staggering and depressing...the title is perfect, as is the use of yellow as sound, and the image of a 'blood' scream is far more affecting than simply a scream...I was always conscious of these dark realities, but it's not until I came here and became friends with women who have experienced these yellow atrocities first-hand...it's changed me, and I'm far more responsive to works such as these than I ever was before...you clearly did your homework for this one my friend, which I know that many of our friends (for many of my friends are you friends and vice-versa) are more than grateful for...this is a poignant and powerful rallying cry of the highest order...I concur with KL in saying that this is a piece that simply cannot be missed...well done Curt...well-said, and well-written.
╰☆╮This is pretty powerful. I wish more people would write about the subject. Amazing job.╰☆╮

Brittany, Frieda, KL, TL, you along with others have given voice against these atrocities, from personal experience as well as more broadly. But more, much more are needed. And URGENTLY thanks Brittany for your review...
Wow, wow, wow. You had me from the title. Eerie for me for a number of reasons ... The use of the colour yellow in particular. There are reasons it can be an ugly colour, makes me think of bruises ... what a wonderful write, Curt, you need to find a woman's rights venue in which to post this, it is that powerful, hearing a man speak out. Thank you! READ THIS EVERYONE!

You know this touched me to the core Curt. Great social commentary here, and done so eloquently. It's a sad, sad reality.
