(It is not easy to know how to help, 

or what to say when a dear sweet friend

is fighting demons)

When the night

eats the sun from your heart

and your skin

crawls with the itch

of invisible hives,

eating you alive from inside,

I know you will survive, 

cause I believe in you.

and are wrapped in a barren,

Winter’s life,

even then

blinks out the stars

This is beautiful Curt....truly a sweet and heartfelt poem. In our darkest moments we need someone to believe in us....that we have the strength to carry on. We don't really need answers or solutions just a friend who has hope and faith. ;-)

I know what you say is true Red. Yet sometimes, especially if we are or feel close to someone, we hope that we could do more. Why is that Red? How do you know the difference? Demons do have to be fought from the inside out, this is a hard truth and yet why do we feel so helpless as we support??? Wish I understood this better Red.

Hmm....I think we feel helpless because we also need to have faith and hope ourselves. Its the fear of losing that friend to something terrible that makes us feel that way. Youre not alone in that Curt...I can deeply relate. Nothing wrong with it...or doing what we can to help. But you know faith alone goes a long way. You have a huge heart Curt...sending you squishey hugs. ;-)

I do know this Red and do have great faith that these demons can be overcome. I also believe that all these outrages can be overcome.
