Too Many Words

Too Many Words

TOO MANY WORDS

tonight there are too many words.
they cram into all my empty spaces
leaving no room for thoughts;
for thinking about - you.

they bubble
boil
ransack
every time I get close to a
rational
conscious
spontaneously
extroverted (where did this come from?)
sentence.

mostly there is just this -
doubt
and,
what red do you want!
why is it
these words form
the most coherent thought?

agnostically
ironic
irony
of delusioned
illusioned
bliss - go figure!
perhaps if there were less words
I might be able to arrange them,
make a list,
state
or utter
a reasoned
responsible
reply
to this query .
alas,
oh well,
anyway,
er....
what did he just say?

I miss you.
there,
I said,
he said,
they said
it
is
said -
too many words
and none
beat with the longing
found in my heart.

I read this out loud and it works so well orally. The perfect soliloquy, where musing over what to say, think, do are all explored and exposed. It's sometimes hard to find the most fitting things to say and often the more we rationalise, the harder it gets. I love the way you concluded this and "none beat with the longing found in my heart". Beautiful. Penny

I know this feeling well, to struggle to find the right words...
You have said it beautifully....

Not easy to read or understand but as soon as you get behind what you wanted to depict you see this wonderful and lovely meaning that shows how much you know this feeling. You exactly caught the feeling and wrote it down in the most perfect matter for this case.

You are so right. Spontaneity comes natural to so many people and in love it is tempered with longing. Excellent...:)......
