Piano Cello Interludes

Piano Cello Interludes

A Poem by redzone
"

music can sooth our beasts...

"
An Introductory note:  I wrote this on my birthday (Monday). And I am allowed to also give
birthday presents. So this is my birthday present to her. Perhaps she will
enjoy it.

Piano Cello Interludes
I am listening to music,
piano with cello interludes,
thinking about you.
I hear the passionate sadness
mourning from the cello
as the piano weaves hollowness
and melancholy from black and white
minor keys.
I feel the disconnect
between the requiem’s movements
and the reality
of an alive, beating
but confused, sullen heart
fighting to be free.
~~~
It always amazes me
to hear the bow guiding the strings
in pulsing tempo
to the fingers caressing ivory
in such a way
that only a smile
can answer in return,
allowing for a kiss of life
in the midst of chaos
and death.
~~
In moments like this
I want to sit beside you,
place your hand in mine
and tell you all I have learned
and know;
all the secrets
that wander through my mind;
even those held in
dark recesses,
cobwebcluttered
and filled with spent emotions.
~~~
But I know I can’t.
Not because I don’t want to,
nor from fear,
though, to do so is scary
since it would mean giving you
my heart.
No, not because of this.
Rather, cause
I don’t think
this is what you need
or want.
~~~
Life is complicated,
complex in its existence
and it is this contradiction
between desire’s want
and equality’s need;
between what’s flesh
and what’s fantasy;
between art, aesthetics
and reality,
that guides my choices.
It’s how this contradiction
interpenetrates,
thereby shaping
and changing reality.
It is this contradiction
I hear,
feel,
and taste
in the weaving of piano and cello.
Music living with us in the gutter,
while enticing us to look at the stars.
~~~
I am listening to music-
piano and cello interludes.
I see vast galaxies,
nebulae,
and shooting stars,
knowing this music
will last a lifetime.

First off, oh my I missed my birthday so sorry my dear friend,
Happy Birthday to you! Second, I just lost my entire
review, and it was really good too. Basically what I said
is you've outdone yourself on your special day.
This is an extraordinary read, needless to say I adore the music.

'dark recesses, cobwebcluttered' made me want
to come give you a squishy huggle. I'm thinking of nuzzling
here for the duration of the night, you just might find stil me here
at dawn curt. Life is indeed melancholy, but your poetry makes
up for in leaps and bounds. MWAH! ♥

100 sloppy wet birthday kisses ;-)

What a wonderful choice of music to accompany your words. Music is forever...our hearts have a certain number of beats in them and so we protect them the best we can. But, we shall always have music:
I am listening to music-
piano and cello interludes.
I see vast galaxies,
nebulae,
and shooting stars,
knowing this music
will last a lifetime.

You don't just soothe the beast but you serenade the love in life with your poems. Although reality is shaped in contradiction but your writes are shaped in beauty's addiction.

You showed your real great friendly empathy and love to a musician, and her heartstrings, of playing, there is a true awe about this my friend, I did enjoy. As poetry or music, that touches us, shall remain forever in our hearts... for they leave kind of footprints, to our soul. Nicely done!

wow. These are some of the most beautiful words I have ever read. Accompanied by the haunting sound of a cello just makes for an incredible experience. Happy birthday for Monday btw and hope it was good :) Penny
