My Muse Is SilentA Poem by redzone...she stole my tongue, but it's her that I miss..MY MUSE IS SILENT --“Can’t you see you are blowin’ my mind Can’t you see these tears I’m cryin’ I can’t get next to you Can’t get next to you.” **Annie Lennox version of an old Temptations song found on her Medusa Album ~~~~~ Outside this room monsters await an weave darkness from sun light knitting once apricot tasting words into the silence that echoes after a scream. If only I could turn back the hands of time see you frolic on a field of rhyme haikuing me down into your eyes of poetry. But now, language has left me keeping its secrets from my tongue shifting the world away from the sun. ~~~~~ I used to turn a gray sky blue make it rain just to see the smile in you. I enjoyed the slight turn of head when sonnets entered you in bright red and you licked your lips swayed your hips ate, devoured, laughed at every last one. But now, I can’t get next to you as you sit empty staring past me like I wasn’t there. ~~~~~ Outside this room monsters await slowly eating the words from my tongue stealing the poetry from my mind. Soon I will join you sitting, staring, never leaving this room practicing this echoing silence. Cause I can no longer make any sense of the shifting world outside and the emptiness of your words. ~~redzone 7.30.04~~ © 2014 redzoneAuthor's Note
