Mist

Mist

A Poem by redzone

when the mist came in,
like a grey tide,
you disappeared.

we would walk
sun rise sands,
watching the ocean's waves'
pallet change as the winter sun
peeked above the horizon.

we stood close, but silent
as a frothy sea hurled itself
upon the rocks,
soaking us with its angry spray.

shadows deepened
as the moonlight fades;
the mist turns grey
creeping along the sands;
sound was muted
when you disappeared.

Curt, when you are inspired by another poet, your true talent shines. I don't think you even realize how wonderful your poetry is and what an impact it has on the reader. The imagery in this one is extraordinary and the melancholy tone is deliciously bittersweet. Kudos! Lydi**
