Between

Between

A Poem by redzone
"

something from the past as I was re-reading some poems....

"

BETWEEN

between the fusing sounds of jazz and blues,

I can taste your kiss.

between the mixing of rainbow colors

bent wildly through your prism,

I can see glimmers in your eyes.

between autumn leaves

and winter’s snow,

I am captured by your beating heart.

~~~
yet, here is a hard insidious fact:
between a cold, distant truth
and this cruel world reality,
you remain as elusive today
as you were yesterday,
and will be tomorrow.
and, there is nothing,
not a damn thing
I can do about it.
Old crush's still beat in our hearts like they're still there. I remember some and wonder what could have been. Good poem.
Between you and her a bittersweet love and between us a great poem...:)
The romantic longing and regret are strong in this poem. The imagery is stunning, Curt. I like how the first stanza sets us up for the poignant ending we do not think is coming. A bittersweet beauty of a poem. You are captured by her beating heart and we are captured by the soft lacy romance you pen....still my favorite genre from you, Curt. Lydi**
