A KISS #2

In the all too brief seconds of a kiss

worlds explode

like expanding ripples

on a smooth lake

effecting universes as they go

on and on

outward

till they fade into the

calmness of the blue

disappearing like nothing had happened.

Yet everything happened.

The world stopped,

the sun nova’d

the stars turned to mush

and you,

you just whispered a

S I G H

then breathed in and

opened your eyes.

And I … I

reached out to

lightly trace your lips

with eager, trembling finger tips

until I too faded into

a calmness of blue

into the nothingness

of sweet morning mist.

This is lovely Curt. Is it that romantic twin of yours again...

Seriously, this is writing that touches my heart. Absolutely stunning.

Oh Redzone. I just melted. Seriously, I am a puddle with typing fingers. This is exactly how my first kiss with the love of my life was! We will be married 20 years in Oct. and he still turns the stars to mush when he kisses me. Well done, man! Angi~

Very beautiful, this defintely portrays a kiss in all of the splendor that one does feel when their lips meet those of one they adore. Nicely done.

Oh, the glorious resplendent emotions connected with a first kiss! The breathless moment, the sigh afterwards, he tracing her lips with a fingertip....you have captured so much romance in this poem, Curt. I have to say this is the best I have ever read from you...but then I will read another and think that is the best. I am fickle that way, ya know? More than nice! A meticulous choice of words that trembled their way into my soul.....and will not soon leave. Heavy sigh! Lydi**
