To my unborn children

To my unborn children

A Poem by Grant Duncan III
"

A few words for the children I pray to raise someday.

"
There will be days when you question it all.
Each question will lead to even more complex questions.
Question everything, especially those that push their beliefs on you.

When you cry, make sure you cry hard and let go of those emotions.
Bottled up tears and feelings will slowly eat at you.

Do not trust every smiling face.  Many will mask they're envy and hate.
Love all but not all the same. Everyone deserves respect until they
prove otherwise.

Be true to your word as best you can.  Lying brings more problems than
it solves, so be careful and try not to lie at all.

There will be times when you must make sacrifices.  Choose them wisely.
Sacrifice does not mean loss; it's a victory for someone or something
you love more than yourself.

Never settle in a place or situation if your soul yearns for
more.  You are capable of extraordinary things, so do not waste a
second.

Learning to be comfortable in your own skin and loving yourself will
make the burdens life brings bearable.

I've fallen in love many times, and every time was unique and special
in it's own way.  Embrace those moments because at the end of the day.
It's moments that take your breath away that you'll never forget.
