UnsaidA Poem by Anne Lockhart
Tired and worn
Spent and torn You're a husband, you're a wife You're a son, you're a daughter Words won't come out You're tongue-tied and messed up inside You can't bring yourself to confront him or her It's too much to even think about You know what needs to be said But you still lie on your bed Rehearsing it over and over again Time passes, and the things you thought would happen don't You cry and you fight You just can't seem to make it right Do everything you can to hold it together But it's not enough It all falls apart And you wonder which of you will pick it all up Put it together and make it all better But silence begins to overcome And you wonder How will it all ever come back together? Remember how it all went down Where you went wrong Where you were out of line And the only thing left is to apologize. ~Red Rose © 2013 Anne LockhartAuthor's Note
