Madman Duncan’s

Madman Duncan’s

A Poem by Delancey M.

Madman Duncan’s

Something creeps up the stairs at night

In old man Duncan's house

Something creeps up the stairs at night

Makes old man nervous,

And hide under the blankets in terror and fright

Something scratches at the door at night

In lonely man Duncan's house

Something scratches at the door at night

Maybe the cat, or a mouse, I hope not a rat

Should I turn on the light?

Thinks lonely man Duncan in his room at night

Something screams in the basement at night

In weary man Duncan's house

Something screams in the basement at night

A horror of a scream like a banshee an omen

He wonders, not out for his death...Right?

Something is forgotten in the dark at night

In sick man Duncan’s house

Something is forgotten in the dark at night

Was it important? I frankly don’t know, I can’t remember

I haven’t seen it since last November

Something dies in his mind at night

In madman Duncan's house

Something dies in his mind at night

What’s that you say? My good sir,

I am sure; I am still quite perfectly sane

Said madman Duncan waving his cane.

Not much to say, but perhaps thats just my opinion and not truly a fact. I have a tendency towards dark humor, and sometimes it splits off freakishly to one or the other sides of that. humor or dark.... more..
