Longing for Light

Longing for Light

A Poem by Redolent Quill

Is it too much to set love free

From the prison of hearts

When after seasons of snow

Rocks write odes of wild flowers

To the wandering warmth of spring

Is a crystal more precious

Than the songs of roots

Than the memories perished

And secretly treasured

Of humble rustles

Of crumbling leaves

Is a crystal more bright

Than the longing for light

Above earth's burning womb

Is it too much to know joy

Deserted outside castles of pleasure

To free spirits from temples of bargain

To caress the mason's wrists

To remember the stars

That forgot they are us

Let's make them sacred

With flowers and incenses

Who are smeared in sweat

Of toiling for truth

Let's worship them instead

Who are drunk on our pain

Let's melt our walls

Let's wing our falls

Let's set them free

Just let them be

In love's infinity
