Familiar StrangerA Poem by LaineIn the mist of my dreams In the fog that surrounds me as the darkness consumes me I see you there....In the mist of my dreams In the fog that surrounds me as the darkness consumes me I see you there But you’ve always been there Standing in my dreams Watching over me as I rest I know you And yet I don’t at all You’re the familiar stranger in my dreams I wish I knew who you were And yet, I don’t want to realize That you aren’t real at all I want to keep the illusion That you are real Somewhere And that one day I’ll find you You’ll know me right away As I will know you The vivid blue eyes that haunt me Hair dark as a moonless sky That always has a strand that falls in your face And a soft smile That smile that makes my heart race I haven’t been close to you Yet I know how the silken strands of your midnight hair Feel beneath my fingers As I brush it from your face You have not touched me Yet I know how I feel in your embrace Your skin against mine How safe and warm I feel in your arms You have not kissed me Yet I know how your lips feel touching mine The electric shocks that go through me How much I want to drown in your kiss And stay there with you forever Tears run down my face As I feel my heart break I know you aren’t real... But I wish you were I want you to be More then anything in the world If I could Then I would dream forever Because I know you would be there Waiting for me My familiar stranger My angel How I love you so © 2010 LaineAuthor's Note
