the Thief's Lost Friend

the Thief's Lost Friend

A Poem by implicit

The thief went into the woods again
To find a long-forgotten friend
The thief still bore his gentle friend's name
But all else had changed

The friend was still beside that tree
His face blurred like a memory
He would not stand, would not return
And he would speak no words
