the House

the House

A Poem by implicit

The rain makes crackling noises as it goes down the chimney
Someone's putting his pants in the washing machine
Someone's studying for an AP test
Someone's defending her thesis 50 miles away
Someone's reading Stone Soup to her daughter
Someone's listening
Someone's fast asleep on the big red chair with the recliner
Someone's planning her wedding, halfway across the country
Someone's spending the night at a friend's
Someone's taking her nightly pills
Someone's wishing he still played his role in the house
