Chapter 3

Chapter 3

A Chapter by abigail elizabeth

The next morning I woke up after getting about an hour of restless sleep that night to see that Adam was not still on laying on the floor, but had gone. I wanted to stay in bed, but yet I didn’t. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I sat up. Then I felt a gun come quickly to my head. I breathed in and held my breath closing my eyes thinking that I was about to die.

“Listen and listen good,” the voice said. It was the voice of the other man who took me. He was sitting on the bed next to me and turned so he could hold the gun to my head. “Don’t you be getting in any ideas about trying to get away from us, because if you do try to run away I will hunt you down and kill you! Even if it takes the rest of my life I will kill you. In the middle of the street during the day or in your room in the dead of night I will kill you. You got that?”

            “Y, yes,” I quivered.

“Good,” then he took the gun away from my head, put it back in his jacket, got up and left the room slamming the door behind him. I breathed a sigh of relief but I still could feel my heart pounding out of my chest. I began to try to control my breathing.

Then the door opened. I jumped at the noise. Adam appeared in the door way and threw a shirt and jeans at me.

“Get dressed,” he stated simply and then shut the door. I put the dark blue jeans and skin tight dark purple tank on and opened the door, the whole time thinking about what was happening and if we might be going some where and why I would need to go with them. Adam was standing there waiting for me. “Some of the boys and I need to go take care of some things. We’re leaving you with Kenny and Twitch,” he said pointing to the two guys sitting over on the grungy old grey couch. The first guy, Kenny had fairly short light brown hair, lighter brown eyes, a weird smile on his face, and a lit cigarette in hand. The other, Twitch had dark chocolaty brown hair a bit on the long side that was all in his face. His eyes were the lightest blue I had ever seen. It almost looked like he didn’t have irises they were so light, but even though they looked strange they took my breath away. He was twitching very intensely, hence the name twitch, and had a cigarette in his mouth. There was smoke in the area that made it harder for me to breathe well. Then Adam walked over to Kenny.

“Stand up,” he demanded. Kenny stood up smiling evil as he looked my up and down with his wandering eyes. All of a sudden I heard a gun suddenly c**k. Kenny’s eyes shot back to Adam’s calm, serious, and yet intense face. Adam was holding a gun to Kenny’s crotch. Kenny’s eyes got huge as he felt the gun come up against him.

“If you lay one hand on her Kenny I will blow your nuts off. You got that,” Adam said in a scary threatening voice that sent a chill up my spine. Kenny gulped.

“What ever you say Adam,” he replied holding his hands up in the air trying to look as innocent as he could. Then Adam stepped away and uncocked his gun putting it back in his holster that was covered by his jacket. Then he walked over to me, “If either one of them so much as touches or even looks at you funny, you tell me all right,” he said looking at me strait in the eyes.

“Ok,” I said with a nod. Then Adam left.

“So,” Kenny said, “Who are you?”

“Noreen,” I answered in a shaky little voice standing very still and not wanting to move.

“So I’m assuming your Adam’s?” he asked then took a drag of his cigarette and began blowing the smoke in the air.

“What? What do you mean Adam’s?”

“Girl, partner in ‘crime’, lady friend.”

“No, they abducted me from my house just last night, I’m not any bodies,” I said then even more confused by his questions.

Kenny smiled and snickered at what I had said. “Really, Adam and who else?” he asked.

“Another guy, I don’t know what his name is,” then I gave him the description of the other guy I gave you earlier.

Tyler,” he said as he leaned back on the couch about half way through the description. “You’re lucky then. From what I hear from the ladies he’s been with that he’s really good. I don’t know about Adam in that department though,” he said with an evil smile. I cocked my head and gave him a confused look. “You don’t know what I mean do you?” I shook my head. He laughed in an amused tone. “Well you are theirs to do with what they want, anything. Ah, you’ll find out soon enough for your self,” he smirked. A feeling of crept out fear came over me when I knew he was taking about sex. Knowing this type of situation I figured it wouldn’t matter if I didn’t want to, that they would just rape me if they had to. At that moment I wanted out of that apartment but then what Tyler had said before came back to me so I pushed it out of my mind for the moment.

“A, a, Adam’s n, not l, like that,” Twitch stuttered and looked up from his leaned over, elbows on knees position on the couch, “H, he does, doesn’t tre, treat girls li, like that.” Kenny rolled his eyes at him as he stood up and then put out his cigarette in one of the ash trays on the side table next to the couch.

“Shut up Twitch,” he sounded just as annoyed as he had looked a moment before, “I’m getting out of here.” He went over to the kitchen table right inside the kitchen entry across the room, opened up a pizza box, took out a piece of supreme and ate it in like three bites.

“Bu, but Ke, Kenny they, they said t, to st, stay here,” Twitch pointed out to him.

“They can go to hell for all I care, I’ll do what ever I want, I’m out,” the he grabbed a jacket off a coat rack next to the front door and left with a slam of the door behind him.

“Ya’, ya’ want a, a smoke?” Twitch asked me holding up a small box of cigarettes.

            “No,” I said, “I don’t smoke.”

“Y’a, you’re re, really pr, pretty,” he said innocently. I smiled weakly at him.

“Thank you,” I said. His twitching began to get worse.

“Why do you shake like that?” I wondered aloud. After I said this I was afraid that I had offended him but he didn’t seem to be.

“It, it’s be, because I’ve be, been on, on dr, drugs since I, I was tw, twelve I, I think,” he answered taking no offense that I could see. This made me feel better

“So how many years is that then?” I continued with my curiosity.

“L, like se, seven years,” he said, “I, I’m n, not sure th, though. I h, have tro, trouble re, rem, remembering th, things.”

“Oh,” I said looking down at my feet now seeing that he probably didn’t enjoy talking about it.
“Do, do you wan, want some, something to e, eat?” he asked.

“I am a little bit hungry,” I replied as my stomach began to growl loudly with hunger.

He smiled at me, “I’ll get you something.” He got up, went to walk into the kitchen and then stopped, “Di, did I st, stutter ju, just th, then?”

“No,” I said. He smiled really big and walked into the kitchen to get the food.

I like Kenny’s character, he seems caring enough, as though the only reason he is there is because of his addiction. I enjoyed the way you gave across the information about Adam and Tyler, in the conversation, we seems to learn a lot about them both through a few short sentences. Looking forward for more :-)
